Can I use an instrumental for free ?<\/h5>

No, all instrumentals offered on the site are subject to a paid license. No use (even non-commercial) is authorized without the prior purchase of an appropriate license. <\/p>\n

This includes streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer), as well as YouTube, SoundCloud, or any other public platform. <\/p>\n

Purchasing a license guarantees that you are compliant and that you can use the instrumental legally.<\/p>\n

However, you can still use an instrumental for free for strictly private use, meaning without posting it online afterward. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

What is a license ?<\/h5>

A license is a contract that grants you certain rights to use an instrumental. <\/p>\n

You need to own a license in order to file and legally use the instrumental in your project. The instrumental, however, remains the property of Breezy January.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Which license should I choose for my project ? (Differences between MP3, WAV, and STEMS files)<\/h5>

It all depends on your goal:<\/p>\n

\u2022 MP3 (Basic License): Ideal if you still have limited resources to invest in your music. Purchasing this license gets you simply the MP3 file of the instrumental.<\/p>\n

\u2022 WAV (Standard License): An upgraded version of the Basic license. Purchasing this license also gets you the WAV file (high quality) of the instrumental. WAV is a higher-quality format than MP3: you'll receive an uncompressed, lossless file offering better sound fidelity. It's therefore preferable for a better result on platforms.<\/p>\n

\u2022 STEMS (Pro \/ Ultimate Licenses): You'll also receive the STEMS (separated tracks) of the instrumental in WAV format. Designed for those who want a professional result, the separated tracks allow a sound engineer to mix your track professionally and give you more freedom to make certain changes to the instrumental.<\/p>\n

Can I upgrade to a higher license later ? <\/h5>

Yes, you can upgrade by paying only the price difference between the license already purchased and the new one. <\/p>\n

Can I monetize my track? <\/h5>

Yes, the licenses allow you to generate revenue via platforms and social networks (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, etc.)<\/p>\n

However, you must never activate Content ID or use a fingerprinting\/copyright platform (such as TuneCore Content ID, Identifyy, AdRev, etc.).<\/p>\n

If you activate Content ID, it triggers automatic blocks and claims on the videos and content of other buyers of the same instrumental.<\/p>\n

When distributing your track, disable the Content ID option or \"copyright protection\" if it's offered by your platform (TuneCore, DistroKid, etc.)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Can I modify the instrumental ? <\/h5>

Yes, you can adapt the instrumental to your track (structure, effects, volume, etc.). However, the creative rights remain with Breezy January, even after modification.<\/p>\n

If you want to significantly modify the composition or involve another composer, you'll need my prior agreement. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Does the instrumental I purchase belong to me exclusively ?<\/h5>

No, all licenses sold online are non-exclusive, meaning other artists can purchase the same instrumental. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Can I get an instrumental exclusively ?<\/h5>

Yes, it's possible ! While the licenses offered on the site are non-exclusive, it is entirely possible to obtain exclusive rights to an instrumental.<\/p>\n

Why isn't there an unlimited license?<\/h5>

I chose to offer an \"Ultimate\" license with high caps (1,000,000 streams, 10,000 copies\/downloads) rather than a truly unlimited license. This choice was made for legal reasons: a non-exclusive license with no limit at all on usage rights creates ambiguity about what is actually guaranteed, which can be problematic in the event of a dispute.<\/p>\n

If your track ever exceeds the caps set by the Ultimate license, rest assured: your track will never be threatened or removed from platforms in any way. A solution will always be found amicably between us. Depending on the circumstances, negotiating exclusive rights to the instrumental can actually be a reasonable option to consider together.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Can I resell the instrumental or use it for another artist ?<\/h5>

No. Purchasing a license gives you the right to use the instrumental for your own project only.
\nIt is strictly forbidden to resell, transfer, or sublicense it to a third party.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

What are the different payment methods ? <\/h5>

You can pay for your order via credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or PayPal, securely, thanks to our payment provider.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

How do I receive my files after purchase ?<\/h5>

Once payment is confirmed, you are redirected to a download page where you'll find all the files and documents.<\/p>\n

You will also receive an email containing the download links for your files (MP3, WAV, STEMS).
\nAlso check your spam folder just in case.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Can I cancel my order after purchase ? <\/h5>

No, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, no refund is possible for digital content delivered immediately. <\/p>\n
